Discussion forum online

August 2006

I have set up a discussion board for this site. As well as answering questions etc., hope that this will become a depository for many resources including photographs, databases and save files (which I intend to upload at some point). So, visit and post your views! I'd like to see how many people actually still play the game. Address:

INTERNATIONAL CRICKET CAPTAIN

This will probably never reach the popularity level of the Cricketgames and Cricketweb forums, but will hopefully get at least some members. We'll see how it goes.

Check this out!

June 2006

Part of the reason I haven't been updating this site much is because of that damn humour website uncyclopedia. There's some really good cricket based stuff there, including the video game Age of Umpires. Check out these links:

Age of Umpires
Geoff Boycott's Grandmother

Shane Warne

Added Compatibility Guide Page

January 2006

Just a brief guide to help explain which elements of this site apply to newer versions of ICC and Australian Cricket Captain.

Updated Player Guide, Editing Help page added

January 2006

Spent a weekend adding to and revising the player guide. Added new page: Editing help. Includes details on how to edit and customise files in the ICC directory. Elsewhere, the ICC 2002 Online matches are up and running again. Check Cricket Games ICC 2002 page for info on how to get online.

New Grounds Added

January 2006

Eight new grounds, including an aerial aerial view of Old Trafford, photos from Lord's and St Lucia. Also, a mad situation where nine slips were employed...

Some minor design changes made. Added Search Box in contents frame.

New Updated Links Database

December 2005

I'm currently working on a links database for not just ICC1, but for all ICC games since also. Click here to view.

Update: Running the game on Windows XP or later

November  2005

I have contacted Empire and unfortunately there are no patches which fix the XP problem. Boo! View copy of the E-mail.

Change of e-mail address

The new, web-based e-mail account for all your questions, queries suggestions etc. is up and running. Click here to e-mail me.

Running the game on Windows XP or later

November  2005

Following a request by e-mail, I can state that I too have had problems attempting to get the original ICC working on Windows XP operating systems. The error message that appears mentions system font sizes, and this seems to be the butt of the problem. I plan to contact Empire Interactive requesting some sort of patch. It's probably the game's waning popularity due to more updated versions of the game which has stopped potential ICC fanatics programming one before now.

Australian Cricket Captain

August 2005

Whilst this website covers the British county version of Cricket Captain, I am aware that the Australian State equivalent which is available in Australasia is very similar. However, I have never played this version, so I don't know which parts of this site will be relevant to it. I will look into adding an ACC page. In the meantime,  Go here.
